Introducing Karen
Hi, my name is Karen and I am so excited to a part of the Southern Girls Challenge Design Team.  I've lived in the beautiful state of Washington my entire life.  My hubby, Kurt and I will be celebrating our 30th anniversary on April 3rd.  He is an awesome guy and takes all my photo's for my blog.  We have two sons, Kyle 26 and Kory 23, who recently returned home after serving 4 years in the US Army. No grand kids yet!  We love to travel, tour some of the many wineries in Washington, as well as just hang out together.  We are working our way through the alphabet with ABC dating, which has been a lot of fun.  I also love to bake, entertain friends and family.  One big accomplishment I am very proud of... last August I participated and completed my first Triathlon.
Most of my life I have been crafting, sewing Barbie clothes, drawing, cross stitch, decorative painting, as well as teaching at my church retreats, community center and the local Michael's. I started scrapbooking/card making over 20 years.  It all began when I became a D.O.T.S. consultant (now known as Close to My Heart), when the company first started.  I was consultant #111 and it was the prefect part time job when my boys were little.  I enjoyed sharing the stamps, demostrating my cards and techniques.  It was so much fun watching others get just as excited as I did about paper, ink and stamps.  As of last year, I am no longer a CTMH consultant, but my passion for paper crafts lives on.  You can find me at

Re-introducing Kirsten

I have to do Kirsten's intro as she is currently moving so here goes........ This is Kirsten :) Kirsten is our resident all things vampire, particularly True Blood and Vampire Dairies, crazed scrapper.  She is a mum to 3 gorgeous girls who you will get to know through her layouts.  She is a true blue Aussie girl and a really lovely part of our team.  She is a current member and this is Kirsten's third term with us.

I have a daughter Jacqueline (12 years old) and a son Cody (4 years old) they are the reason I do scrapbooking and the main subjects to my pages - Ive been scrapbooking for about 9 years now and Im now lucky enough to have a room for my scrapbooking which i try and get into at least once a day... In recent times Ive found the love of art journalling but still do my layouts as well as OTP stuff.....Im trying to get better at up dating my blog which can be found here

I look forward to working with the new members of the DT as well as the ones already on it and seeing what you all come up with each challenge, hope you all come and play along with us at Southern Girls....
Introducing Julie W

Hello everyone. My name is Julie and I live in the UK. I am absolutely delighted to be chosen as a Design Team Member for Southern Girls. This is the first time I have ever joined a DT and I'm really excited to be able to take part. I am a mother and grandmother and I love all forms of art and although my favourites are Scrapbooking and Cardmaking my absolute passion is Altered Art and you can often find me writing or painting in my journal. I set up my own blog nearly 2 years ago when my first grandaughter was born hence the name and I update it as often as I can. I lead a really busy life but I am lucky enough to be able to craft all day as part of my job
I can't wait to get started:)

Re-Introducing Marie

Hello, I'm Marie and I'm from London in the UK - which is a pretty exciting
place to be right now because of the forthcoming olympics!!! I live with my son,
Sam and fur baby, Tippy! I've been crafting - cardmaking mainly but I've
recently got into 'Smash booking' - for a few years now. I took it up after
going through cancer treatment, which meant that I had to give up work and had
alot more time on my hands! Through cardmaking, I started blogging - and I've
never looked back. The inspiration I find from all the wonderful people out in
blogland and from the different challenges there are out there - and the friends
I've made around the world, mean the world to me.
I'm thrilled to be staying on with the Southern Girls challenge team - I've been
here from the start and I still find the challenges as fresh and exciting as the
day I started. Not only that, it's the friendliest, most fun team I've ever been

Introducing Amanda

Hello my crafty friends! My name is Amanda and I am a very proud mother to two playful pups and two naughty kitties. I haven't been crafting long, maybe about a year. But I have to say it is the best thing I ever did. Crafting is such a wonderful way to relax and wind down after a crazy day. Hey, it's cheaper than a therapist and you can do it in your pajamas! Can't beat that! I'm very excited to be a part of this design team and I can't wait to see everyone's creations. Have a wonderful day and happy crafting!

Re-Introducing Shell

Hello I’m Shell and I hail from the Great state of Alaska, USA  I’ve been crafting most of my life thanks to my dear Mom…. it’s in my blood!   I started crafting seriously back about 2004 when I took over for a SU demonstrator since she was quitting.  Little did I know that it really was addicting, I am currently designing for Third Coast Rubber Stamps and for a few blogs.
I work full time as a driver for the Kenaitze Indian Tribe Elders, as well as driving Tour Buses in the Summer and that’s in my free time….LOL
Been married 32 years to a wonderful man and living 20 yrs in Alaska, we have 2 grown sons that I’m extremely proud of.
The furry kids at home are purebred Australian Shepherds and a Tabby Cat that rules the house.

Hugs Shell♥

Introducing & Re-Itnroducing Our DT Lovelies - Day 3

Re-Introducing Kim

My name is Kim and I live in New Zealand. This is my second ‘round’ as a DT member for Southern Girls and I’m thrilled at being able to continue. As you may have seen, I specialize in layouts rather than cards, and love to have lots of colour in my pages. I have a 5yo boy, and he is what I tend to scrap – I reckon by the time he leaves home, he’ll need a truck just to move the albums I’ve made of him. LOL J
I’m a budget type of scrapper – I don’t tend to spend a lot and I’m not really a ‘fashion follower’. I mix things up and tend to find people love or hate my work, including myself! Hopefully, you’ll enjoy some of what I do. I have a busy life and don’t get to scrap too often, so I’ll apologise now for my intermittent postings on my blog. I look forward to seeing the layouts that you all do when you join us in the challenges and hope we can all inspire each other to create!

Introducing Jakki

I’m so excited over being asked to join SGC, and can’t wait to start. I’ve been scrapping since my daughter was born but have been playing with paper and art supplies since I was little. I love mixing colors, textures and patterns in unexpected ways. I can honestly say that there isn’t a color out there I don’t like and I love all things typography. I live in sunny sothern california, close enough to the beach to visit all summer. Oh and there’s a hubby in the mix who told me to get a hobby years ago (he sometimes questions his advice), and one more little guy who I’m lucky enough to spend all day (and night) with along with some furry and featherd friends that make up my busy life . My blog and journal of daily adventures can be found at

Re-Introducing Kazza

Hi, I am Karen aka “Kazza” [there always seems to be another Karen around]. I started playing around with cardstock and pps around 2006 when I decided to put my Europe trip photos into an album. Was NEVER going to get into scrapbooking!!!!! Mmmm….Well I guess if you’re a bit crafty it just doesn’t stop there!! All the beautiful things out there to spend that little bit of money on….and on……Then got on the net and into peoples blogs and so it goes on.
I live in a beautiful wee place an hour from Auckland at the beach with my husband and pussycat “lolly”. I have 2 grown daughters and Carl [2nd time around] has 2 children and 2 grandies which you will see featured in my LO’s.
This is my one and only DT and I love that Lou and Tracy look after us so well. My little blog is: I don’t do a lot on it but it is my challenge this year to up the anti!!

Introducing Tania

Hello! My name is Tania and I live in the north of Brisbane. I have been happily married to my husband for 9 years and have twin 6 year olds Jake and Hannah. Currently I work as a Registered Nurse for Queensland Health, and shift working has allowed me quiet time to do crafting while my babies are at school. I have recently been doing lots of off the page creations and cards, as they are less time consuming than my previous love of cross stitching. My favourite designers are Sarah Kay, Lili of the Valley, Penny Black and Magnolia, but more recently I am finding some awesome digi stamps out there which allow me to get my image on the spot! I love all sorts of crafts and can turn my hand to many things. I feel absolutely blessed that I can work on the DT of SGC, and this is my very first experience doing this! I hope to learn so much more, and hope you can drop by my blog and leave some kind words. Stay safe, XOX Tania

Re-Introducing Sue U

Hi I'm Sue, and I live in the UK with my Hubby and my boys, James - 10 and Sam - 4.   Crafting is my "me" time that helps me relax after a busy day at work, and helps me ignore the ever present ironing pile :-D

I occasionally scrapbook and do mini books, but I mainly make cards, and I love colouring up a lovely image with my copics and making a unique card to give to someone special.  My favourite embellishment is ribbon, as I think it can make a card look really luxurious, and I love papers as my overflowing paper unit clearly demonstrates!

My style tends to be more-is-more but I do like to try new techniques and styles, sometimes with mixed results (!!), and I'm quite getting into the distress ink thing lately, although I need to remember to put gloves on, cos I frequently look like a career criminal!!  I also like going back to old techniques and playing around with different ideas, I go with the thought "What's the worst that can happen" quite a bit, although this often ends up with a result I like, but no earthly clue how I got there!!

I'm absolutely delighted to be staying on with Southern Girls for a second term, and am looking forward to getting to know all the new DT members, and seeing all the gorgeous entries to the challenges from all over the world, they are all so inspirational!  Who knew that when I started crafting 5 years ago that I would now be on DT's, and have met so many new friends, and have managed to persuade several friends to get crafty.

Introducing and Re-Introducing Our DT - Day 2

Introducing Siv

Hello there! My name is Siv and I am one of the new DT members of Southern Girls Challenge. I am so excited about this, as I love the world of papercrafting!
I live in Norway with my husband and two wonderful boys born 2009 and 2011 and work as a primary school teacher.
I started papercrafting when our oldest son was born, with the intention of making him a scrapbook album of his first years. But then I discovered card/tagmaking, and this has led to a lot of cards and tags and very few LOs.. My greatest inspiration comes from Tim Holtz – the wizard of papercrafting. I absoulutely adore his products and techniques, as you can see in my blog . Hope you’ll stop by my place sometime! I look forward working on the team and seeing what you all come up with in the SGC’s challenges!

Re-Introducing Viv
My name is Viv Pert and I live in Hawera, a town of about 11,000 people in beautiful New Zealand, close to a snowy mountain and the west coast beaches. I live with my partner of 20 years and our 2 poodles ,1 golden retriever , a ginger cat, 6 motorbikes (his!) and our VW Kombi. I work 3 days a week as a pharmacist, and in my spare time train my dogs in agility, make cards, read, cook, walk dogs , brush dogs, clip dogs, make more cards........!
I have a serious paper addiction, and a never-ending desire to buy more of everything! I started with rubberstamps and graduated to digital stamps, as they are so much easier to store and you can get them almost instantly. Copics came along also, so my colouring progressed with the help of endless tutorials and lots of practice. Thank goodness for the internet!  I’ve just bought 120 polychromo pencils which I’m having fun learning to use. I have a dedicated room for all my stash, and my dogs all join me in there while I'm playing, gets a bit crowded sometimes but I love their company.
I've got to know so many lovely, talented people through this hobby and blogland.

Introducing Jessi

Hello, my name is Jessica Pascarella! I am thrilled to be joining the Southern Girls Challenge!  I live in Texas with my husband of 8 years, Michael. We have 3 awesome kiddos (Brayden-5, Daniel-4, and Adelynn-2).  Being a stay-at-home, I lean on papercrafting to keep me from pulling out my hair.  I give full credit to my grandmother for introducing my to cardmaking.  She has been making her own cards since I was a teenager (I still have each one that she has sent). My main focus is cardmaking, but I dabble my feet into scrapbooking and altered items.  You can see my creations on my blog,  Kissin’ Krafts.

Re- Introducing Julie
Hi all, I’m thrilled to have been asked to stay on Team Lou for another 6 months, I was sure that after all this time the lovely Lou and Trace would be ready to get rid of me! I have been making cards for as long as I can remember, wouldn’t want to share any of my early makes with you though as my style has changed almost beyond recognition. I’m a working Mum of three teenagers , two girls and a boy who keep me busy with orders for cards for their friends. I love to blog my creations and give tips that I hope will inspire others, if anyone has any tips on how to keep up with the washing and ironing and leave me with more crafty time I would be forever grateful! You can find me here Let me know when you’re coming and I’ll put the coffee on! See you later, Julie.x

Introducing Kasey

Hi I’m known as Kasey ~ in Oz out there in blogland, I’ve been a creative person for most of my life and tired my hand at all sorts of crafts from Leadlighting to Millenary, Ceramics to Beading. I found papercrafts about 6 years ago, I was going through some stuff the other day and found a few of those early cards. OH MY! How far I’ve come since those days. I dabble in Scrapbooking now and then my 3 year old granddaughter is the subject of most of my pages……AND….I have found a new love ….’Copic Markers’! I’m slowly building my collection as well as my knowledge on how to use them. I love bling, Vintage style, layers and detail on my cards and I really struggle with CAS! I consider myself to be a bit of an aging hippy and love paisley, folk music and then I move on to 60s and 70s rock! : ) I am so proud and excited to have been selected to be part of the Southern Girls challenge team and hope to provide our followers with inspiration from my projects. I’m amazed and thrilled to have found so many lovely ‘Blends’ (blog friends) through playing along with challenges and being part of design teams over the past year.

Hi everyone! My name is Alyce and I am so thrilled to be joiningSouthern Girl Challenge as a design team member! I have a real passion for crafting and am always spending my spare time making something. For my day job I am a full time interior designer, but I have found that crafting is a great avenue to explore my creativity. My background in design has always had me experimenting with different techniques and concepts, and one thing led to another and I found copic markers and card making - my two new loves!
My partner and I have no children, though we do have a little fluffball that gets all of our love and attention - and gets spoilt rotten! hehe :) I live in Australia, and my work can be seen at Feel free to stop by and leave a little love :)

I have been happily married to my hubby Ray for 13 years now and we have 3 sons, Caide – 12, Bryce – 10 and Jamie – 4. I absolutely adore being a Mom and Wife and love the life we live in our little town. It’s a great place to bring up our boys!!

I have been scrapbooking since 2005 when I was shown a small demonstration, and have been hooked ever since. I am absolutely passionate about this hobby, and love the rewards it brings. To me there is nothing better than when my boys pull out their albums and they get excited remembering occasions and events from years gone by. I starting stamping and cardmaking a few years later, and also thoroughly enjoy the creative outlet this provides me!! I love to color in images with my Copics! Besides these 2 hobbies I also love to knit, spend time in my garden and veggie patch. I run and do aerobics to keep fit!

I am so excited and happy to have been chosen as a DT member here at Southern Girls, it is a wonderful site, and I am so pleased I get to make new friends and “meet” new people here!!
